I am an ultra trail runner and work as an Activity Manager in Saariselkä.
By education, I am a Sports Advisor, Certified Personal Trainer , and Wilderness and Nature Guide .
I am also a trained Trail Running Instructor and Trail Running Coach.
My expertise focuses on endurance sports, especially trail running and its associated exercises. The things I have learned through my own experience in training and studying them also in theory have expanded my own expertise in running. My trail running coaching focuses on the core issues in developing running, including strengthening the “running muscles” and thereby also improving speed. The most important thing is to get the client to stay in shape without stress injuries.
I have been involved in sports since I was a child, sometimes more and sometimes less. As a child, I mainly participated in ski competitions until skiing became a hobby for several years. At some point, as if by stealth, running began to play a large part in my life, but at first it was more or less random. After the birth of my children, running became more regular and I noticed that it was part of my everyday life. I mainly ran on a dirt track and some trails, but soon I also found myself on the road. However, after my achilles tendon became inflamed and after its rehabilitation, I returned to soft ground and ran half of the Pyhä fell, after which the trails took my heart forever.
I ran my first running event in 2016 and with good success, my enthusiasm for training became even more goal-oriented. I have run one road race and all the others have been trail running races. And the distances have been getting longer. Since 2018, I have mainly run ultra distances, including the 130km Vaarojen Maraton and the 160km NUTS YPH . I have also run a few adventure sports races, including the Lost in Kainuu 48h race, which a group of four won. At the moment, I am more interested in trail running, but the races are still interesting.
Trail running and its promotion are matters of the heart to me. I have been involved in the activities of Suomen Latu since 2017, when I took the Suomen Latu Trail Running Instructor course . Since then, I have been guiding trail running runs at Imatran Lapinkävijät. Until 2019, I guided trail running alone, because the trail association had no other instructors. Those years were a very educational time and gave me the keys to guiding a larger group alone. At the same time, I learned how to guide runners of different levels at the same time. I also worked in the Kiilopää trail running week instructor group and as the person responsible for organizing the event. I have worked as a trail running instructor trainer since 2022. I have also been involved in route marking and safety patrolling at numerous trail running races.
My goal is to continually educate myself in different areas of exercise and nutrition. Life is a continuous learning process and with enough curiosity, you can realize your own dreams.

I am an ultra trail runner from Rauma and work as a Physiotherapist in
Ivalo. I am a Physiotherapist, OMT and I am highly specialized in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. I am also a trained Wilderness and Nature Guide, Trail Running Instructor and Trail Running Coach.
My expertise focuses on versatile body training and especially body control training, especially in endurance sports and trail running. Years of diverse training combined with my own experience have given me a broad knowledge base and toolbox in running. The body must withstand stress and the key to that is training based on body control. When the supporting muscles do their job, the superficial muscles can do their job, which is to move us forward. I myself am a good example of the effect of training, as I have not suffered from any serious strain injuries in my ultra trail running career.
I have been involved in sports since I was a child, mainly team sports, football and ice hockey. Both of these have included a variety of side exercises and running. After ice hockey was suspended in 2010, I did more gym training and led group exercise classes and occasionally went running. I became interested in trail running in 2017 when we decided to participate in a trail running race in Ruka when we met with the OMT training group, and there was no going back to the asphalt to the extent I had before.
Since the 2017 Ruka race, I have participated in several trail running races and a few road races every year. Progressive training has produced the desired results and in 2019 I ran my first ultra trail running race ( Vaarojen Maraton 65km ). The distances have since become longer and I have finished in NUTS Karhunkierros 166km, NUTS YPH 160km and Vaarojen Maraton 130km . Nowadays, I am more interested in trail running, but the races are still interesting.
Trail running has taken my heart and I want to promote trail running in its various forms. I have been involved in the activities of Pori Trail Runners, organizing runs open to everyone and running my own trail running schools. I have been involved in Suomen Latu's activities since 2021, when I took the Suomen Latu Trail Running Instructor course. Before moving to Lapland, I still managed to start Porin Latu's trail running activities, which are now being continued there with merit. Since the summer of 2022, I have been one of the instructors of Suomen Latu Kiilopää's trail running week. I have also been involved in numerous trail running competitions, marking routes and patrolling safety.
My goal is to further train as a guide and instructor, understand more about how the human body works, provide people with unforgettable experiences, and boldly realize our own and shared dreams.
